基于的Mozilla引擎版本是Gecko 1.7.5. 与Firefox 1.0 相同。　由于K-Meleon使用的Windows Native Interface. 没有使用XUL. 使得它在缺少XUL支持的前提下获得了比Firefox/Mozilla Suite等Gecko浏览器更快速的浏览速度，开启速度，和更少的资源占用。（默认情况下K-MeleonCCF本身设定的内存缓存设得比较高，如果不需要，可以相应调低）
